Photo Shoot - Take 1

So we loaded up in the car to go to the beach and take really cute pictures of the boys in their new Christmas pj's from Gammy.  It's was really over cast when we got there, but the boys still had a blast.

Unfortunately the PJ pictures didn't turn out exactly how I would have liked, but we'll try again soon. :)

Maybe next time I'll be able to get them both looking at the camera, at least!

"It's COLD!"-Jude

"I'm Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger"

Joe found an octopus!

Jude was saying " Mommy take a picture of me like this!"

and incase you forgot what we looked like...

and now with Santa hat's...

And here are the PJ's...

 Having fun with photoshop...

The PaX-Files

So, since my last post was dedicated to Jude,
I decided, this one is for Pax

I'm really not sure where to start.  So I'll just write as things come to mind, which so happens to be...the Potty.
Yes, the potty.

It all started several weeks ago, I was working in the computer room and the boys were off being little angels in the other room.

(or so I thought)

I heard the giggling and hard laughter and thought,

"Oh yes, this is great! Finally playing together."

So, I returned to my computer work thinking, this wonderful behaviour was obviously a result of my superb mothering skills.

Then, it got really quiet.

You know, the eery quiet that comes when your kids are doing something they're really not suppose to.

Then a HUGE outburst of Laughter!

I had to check it out.

So, I ran, I found them, and immediately thought to myself.

Do I run and get the camera?
Or put a stop to what was going on?

Since I chose to do the latter, I, regrettably,  don't have a picture to show you.

So, here is what I saw...

Jude, with his back to the door, standing next to the toilet.  Pax, standing in front of the toilet.

(Innocent right?  Well not quiet. This was definitely one of those
'brother moments'
you hear about, a little premonition of what is to come.)

So, these boys were laughing uncontrollably, while Jude was frantically flushing the toilet and Pax had this huge cup that he would put in as the water gushed out and was pouring into his mouth.

I'm sure you can see the delima I was in.

Camera? or prevent possible E Coli?

Never-the-less, after this fun experience with the potty Pax has been a little obsessed.

So, for your enjoyment,
here is a list of things
I have found in the potty since then...

  • 1 small Buzz Lightyear
  • 3 Woody dolls
  • 5 legos
  • 2 cups
  • 1 Jessie doll
  • 4 trains
  • 13 dollars in change
  • my wedding bands
  • 1 month's supply of birth control pills

Life would be dull without him  :)

My sweet little Pax.

The Tales of Jude the Bird

The Tales of Jude the Bird

So, I just wanted to start dedicating some of my posts to Jude.

Evidently he is quite the storyteller, and I hope everyone will enjoy this.

Jude was playing quietly in his room then all of a sudden I hear...
Jude:   AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!  OUCH!  AHHHH!!!!!!!!
Me: JUDE! Are you ok? What’s happened?
Jude: Hurry mommy come quick! In my room!
Me: Oh my what is it?
Jude: Look at my face mommy that snake bit my     face!!!!!
Me: *totally terrified looking around for a snake, I’m...speechless*
Jude: Do you see it mommy?
Finally, I see it. There it was sitting on his bed, a 4 inch rubber snake.
Me: Oh, I see. That snake bit you?
Jude: Yes! He was not a nice snake after all!!! He is  sitting on the bed and got 2 spankings!

I’m not sure where but somehow Jude got the “I’m old enough now to call my parents whatever I want” memo.
So he thinks it’s pretty cool to call Joseph, Dad.  He thinks it’s so cool, he doesn’t know when to stop using this new, proper noun.
Jude: Hey Dad. Hey, Dad, let’s go play Dad. I think you’re pretty cool Dad.
He also likes Joe.
Jude: Hey Joe. I need some more juice please Joe. Oh and Joe after that we need to play Joe.  Joe let’s play trains please sir Joe.

*The Balentine Curse is already setting in. I was calling Jude, Babe. Someone please say a quick prayer.*

Me: Hey Babe, don’t forget your blanket
Jude: Hey! I’m not your babe! Daddy is your babe!  I’m just Jude Bird Alan Buck!

Me: Jude! What is this mess?  There are crackers everywhere! All over the floor! What happened?
Jude: Oh well... I was eating them and then Pax came over and and and started to put them in his face and and then he pooped them out all over the floor!
Me: Oh my! Is that really what happened?
Jude: Yes mommy! I saw it with both my eyes!
*Jude told this story earlier this summer but I thought it was definitely worth retelling*
Joe: Jude, do you like it here in Florida?
Jude: Yes I really do.
Joe: Do you like Oklahoma too?
Jude:   No! One time in Oklahoma, I...I...I kicked a big giant bush and and a snake came out and bite my nipple off!!

Lightning McQueen:   Yeah thanks Grandpa! ...huh, Idiot
Mother of the year:  Oh that is not nice.  We don’t say things like that.
Jude:  That’s right!! We don’t say  GRANDPA! That is not nice after all!!
Pax: (2 inches from the tv)  EE-EE! EE-EE! (I’m assuming he was saying Idiot.)

So Mr. Pax is talking up a storm with new words nearly every day.  Mainly just one word at a time, and sometimes two.
But everyone over here has decided there is only one word that describes Pax perfectly, and that is “Cheeky.”

I really have no idea what that means but I think I’m getting a clue.  Because people only say this after he gives them “the look.”  The look that’s kind of a smirk... with a twinkle in his eye and half smile that says , ‘hold on to your daughters and take a seat! I’m about to show you how things are done around here!’

But, on a more positive note! Pax has been so sweet.  And mostly gets in trouble for trying to hug Jude all the time, and is really big into giving kisses.  So much so, he often gets in trouble with the ladies.

*coming very soon, the Pax-Files*

The Cardinal Sin

So, we took the boys on a train ride last Monday into Sydney

They were so excited about getting to ride the train... you can tell.

But we had a good time! :)

While we were in Sydney we bought the boys pencils with a kangaroo and koala toppers.

Anyways, Pax feel asleep on the way back to Campbelltown and Jude was playing with the pencils.

Let me just say that we were riding the train back during the evening rush hour,
so there were a lot of people on the train.

Then all of a sudden Jude YELLS...

And we said,
"Jude! What happened?"

Jude said,
"That Koala bit my face!"

Then I brilliantly said,
"Why, that mean ol' koala bear!!"

After I said that noticed every eye on the train look up from their books and newspapers to stare at me. ...and even snicker.

Then Joe looked at me and said,
"Uhh...babe. It's not a bear. It's like a Cardinal Sin here to call the koala a bear."

Evidently, he was right.

How was I suppose to remember
2nd grade science?

That the 'Koala Bear' isn't really a bear but a marsupial!

Australian's even have a song they teach their kids about the koala not being a bear.

Well...never again.

Well, not a lot has been going on down here.  We made our first trip outside of Campbelltown today down to the beach at Wollongong.  We made it there just fine.  But, we got lost on the way home.  Stalled the car twice before entering an intersection.  Drove on the wrong side of the road, and almost wrecked because I was looking the wrong way before turning.

Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures. I won't post them all on here. I think I posted them all on facebook though if you want to see the rest. :)

But these are my FAVORITES.

Joe took this one! :)

and this one...obviously.
